2008年11月10日晚上7:30分,我组依庄防同学应勐仑镇团委和勐仑中学之邀,到勐仑中学灯光球场发表了关于人生和理想的演讲,演讲持续了一个半小时,受到了学生和学生家长的热烈欢迎。当晚出席的领导有勐仑镇王副镇长、镇团委查书记等领导与勐仑中学的校长和老师们,还有闻讯赶来的当地群众。 演讲由勐仑中学刘天成副校长致词开场,作为依庄防同学中学时的语文老师他表达了其培养了第一个从西双版纳傣族村寨走出的女博士的自豪,在对依庄防同学的个人情况进行了简要的介绍之后就将话筒交给了依庄防同学。演讲一开始依庄防同学就走下演讲台,用傣语跟同学和老师们打招呼,立刻唤起了同学们极高的热情。此次她将其演讲内容分成三个部分分别是:人生要有理想和目标,要勇于改变自己的命运;学习是一种玩乐;大学里很好玩的事情,并就当前同学们生活学习中易出现的问题以幽默的语言和生动的事例进行了阐述。最后依庄防同学对同学们提出了殷切的希望,希望他们能好好学习将来做个对国家有用的人。 文:翟德利

The EcoEvo-XTBG group participated in the fine food, cultural entertainment, and intellectual discussion hosted by the administration and offices of the Xishuangbanna Nature Reserve in Jinghong on Oct 28. Both Drs. Cannon and Slik presented talks at the afternoon seminar.
