Chuck Cannon gave a presentation on the “Comparative genomics of tropical trees: no assembly required” at a special workshop organized by the German Society for Genetics entitled, “Evolutionary Genetics – the impact of next-gen sequencing technology” held in Wittenberg, Germany from April 2-4, 2009. Prof. Cannon was also invited to be one of four panelists on a discussion about visualization challenges presented by next-gen sequence data. Over 100 scientists and students attended the meeting, from over a dozen countries. His presentation will be included in a special issue of Molecular Ecology, based on the workshop, to be published at the end of 2009.
