Masters Student
Following a protracted undergraduate degree at Texas Tech University in Philosophy and Ecology, I headed out in search of field-based happiness. My quest took me west to the Rocky Mountains, north to the Alaskan Peninsula and south to the Grand Canyon. I have primarily focused on conservation and education, serving as a Wilderness Ranger for the US Forest Service, a teacher, field tech for various projects, and a crew leader for invasive plant management. Eventually, my journeys took me so far westward that I ended up here in the East.
Starting in September 2009, I will be conducting research towards a masters degree at Gunung Palung National Park in West Kalimantan, Borneo, Indonesia. Broadly, I will be studying the effects of forest structure and fruiting events on the reproductive success of various primate species in the region, the specifics to be determined.
