
Matt Helmus
Post Doc
Matt’s main interest is in using phylogenetic approaches to address basic ecological questions. He has worked on identifying phylogenetic patterns in the composition of ecological communities, understanding species interactions through their co-evolutionary history and predicting patterns of species invasion and extinction with phylogeny. His background is in aquatic community ecology and he has worked extensively in the lakes of Northern Wisconsin and the river systems of West-Central Mexico.
Matt is currently a postdoc in the Wootton Lab at the University of Chicago
